Larimar — Also known as Dolphin Stone or Caribbean Stone, Larimar is found only in the Dominican Republic, where volcanic fire met the Caribbean Sea to create this ocean-blue gem. About the Stones

Larimar. Larimar is the blue variety of pectolite, coloured by copper, and gem-quality material comes from a single mountainside in Barahona Province in the Dominican Republic — nowhere else on Earth.

Rainbow Moonstone. Most Rainbow Moonstone is white labradorite — a plagioclase feldspar — rather than moonstone in the strict sense, which is why it flashes blue instead of glowing white.

Black Onyx. Onyx is a banded chalcedony, the same mineral family as Agate; the solid black material is the classic form, and much commercial black onyx is colour-enhanced — a standard, stable practice.

Wearing & Care

Sterling silver tarnishes slowly in air; a silver polishing cloth keeps it bright. Put it on last, after perfume and lotion, and take it off for showers, swimming and sleep. Larimar: Soft, and bought for its colour: keep it out of prolonged sun and heat, which fade the blue for good. Rainbow Moonstone: Water-safe for brief contact; rinse and dry rather than soaking. Black Onyx: Durable: warm water and a soft cloth, and it can take daily wear.
